Spiroplax spiralis ist eine Krabbenart der Familie Hexapodidae und einziger Vertreter der Gattung Spiroplax.cite-ref-worms-1-0[1] Sie besiedelt Flussmündungen und die flachere Gezeitenzone in der gemäßigten Klimazone im Süden Afrikas, zum Teil als Kommensale mit der Garnelenart Kraussillichirus kraussi.cite-ref-poore-2-0[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 5,5 mm lang. Der dritte bis fünfte Somit des Pleons sind bei Männchen verschmolzen und so breit wie lang. Der sechste Somit ist kurz und breiter als lang, das Telson etwa dreieckig. Der dritte Maxillipede ist schmal und bedeckt die Mundhöhle nicht. Das erste Gonopodium ist kurz und stark spiralig eingedreht.cite-ref-poore-2-1[2]
